Project Update: "A Seed's Story" Kicks Off!

SAP

We first met Madeline and Kaitlin at the 2016 SAP Social Innovation Series, where they pitched an idea to use a school greenhouse to teach students about seed to plate, utilizing local farmers and chefs to help teach participants more about healthy eating. Throughout the school year, Madeline and Kaitlin kept us updated as they submitted online Project Check Ins and joined student conference calls to share successes and challenges with other students. They encountered several setbacks over the course of the year, including a devastating loss of the greenhouse plants during a particularly hot week. Throughout it all, they learned to adjust their plans and persevere through challenges, and were excited to finally see their Project come to life, complete with a kickoff event this month to share results and learnings with their peers and community.

Next year, Madeline and Kaitlin have already recruited 30 students to join next year’s gardening club to continue their initiative. Like many other AdCap entrepreneurs, they’ve learned how to overcome problems and make a difference. We’re delighted to share these pictures from their kickoff event of “A Seed’s Story”!
